Wish to build a 2nd house on my property in Elizabeth St South, Cnr Gipps St. I built one house 15 years ago, and pegged and laid foundations for this house, to alignments given by then Surveyor. Now after curb 12" closer to premises, the small difference makes a big change to tender price. Mr Bell requires me to comply with alignment now, and wish to call your attention to this before the foundation is laid. Notes: 1. Report: Thos H Bradridge, City Surveyor: house built 14 years ago with party wall, fireplaces and flues, & brickwork toothed for this 2nd house. Then 3 years ago kerb laid southward of previous and found that not to be at proclaimed alignment. As work done at direction of officer of Council, owner seeks to build as previously started, as a cheaper wall than party wall would have been done if known. 2.
