The Council had the power to be given £10,000 but this had been exceeded by £5,000. On advice of a remaining valuable quantity of land left that could be obtained at a cheaper rate, an additional £15,000 would be advisable to obtain from Parliament which would be sufficient to pay off the overdraft.
