Carl Fichte, Royal Hotel, Sydney. He is from Berlin and is returning today. He writes that many of the buildings in Sydney are very beautiful, but are mostly spoiled by their situation. There are no fountains in the city. He suggests removing the "ugly prison fence" that is around the Town Hall, have the whole space paved, and a handsome fountain erected at the corner.
