Geo Harris, Ultimo. Complaining that a covered culvert had been removed when the kerb and gutter was relaid, and gives details. He feels that the City Surveyor has removed some of the many unsightly constructions of bye-gone times although they may have been more substantial and seviceable than those that take their places. He asks that the gutter running on the west side of Harris Street from Mary Ann Street south be placed at a proper level as water and filth lie rotting in it, resulting in an unbearable "Melbourne smell".
