There are other gullies in similar circumstances. In Hunt Street there is a sewer ventilation shaft in the middle of a very narrow street and people from the surrounding houses are inconvenienced by the smell and the noxious fumes are posing health problems. Inspector of Nuisances concurs with Health Officer's report, stating he has ordered the gully shaft to be flushed twice weekly and noting that the Mayor has instructed the City Surveyor and City Health Officer to report on the sewer ventilating shaft in Hunt Street.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
