Shelly, Inspector of the Abattoir regarding inspection of pigs prior to removal of carcases. Attached letter states pigs at Glebe Island Abattoir are inspected both prior to and after slaughter whereas this is not the case with other slaughterhouses. He seeks a meeting with Council to further discuss and recommend reforms for the more hygenic transport of fresh meat by carters. Also attached is report on the number of pigs and calves killed in the City Abattoir in January and February.
