He acknowedges receipt of the Town Clerk's letter of 21st, enquiring as to the amount per load the Government is prepared to pay for the ballast from the site of the new markets in George Street. He replies that when he cummunicated with the City Architect, and offered him the space at the back of the old Wharf at Circular Quay, no mention was made about paying.
