Management of contracts with private service providers
Unique IDAY-0121DescriptionFrom time to time since 1842, and especially since the 1990s, the Council has contracted for the delivery of services with external providers, rather than perform the services directly using employees.
This activity covers all aspects of the management of these contractual relationships, including selection of services to be market-tested and contracted-out, the selection and tender process, and management of the 'funder - provider' relationship.
The first mention of this in the Council records appears to be the Minutes of the Board of Works Committee on 3 November 1843 when James Briers was paid 26 pounds for cleansing Cook and Phillip Wards during the previous August and September. (CRS 10/1). CreationTo be researched
