Unique IDAS-0740Start dateBetween 21st July 1969 and 21st July 1982Start date qualifiercircaFormatVolume - Leather BoundDescriptionThis series contains a register which includes an alphabetical index of notices to comply issued under various sections of the Local Government Act, the majority being Sections 317a, 249h and 317b.

Most of the notices issued were for the removal of unauthorised work, demolition or repair of dangerous structures including fire-damaged buildings, and the cessation of unauthorised use of a property.

The register is divided into alphabetical sections by names of streets and records the notice number, date of service, address, Section of the Local Government Act not being complied with, details of the notice, time allowed, and date completed. The date completed column is usually annotated with "c" for complied, and occasionally "ns" for not served, and "os" for outstanding.

Although action on the notices to comply began in 1968, the first notice to be registered and served was not until 1969.

When South Sydney Municipal Council was amalgamated with Sydney City Council in 1981, the register was taken to Sydney City Council's Planning Department and used until July 1982. After this date notices to comply for the former South Sydney area were registered as part of the main file series in CRS 85, Activity File Register Sheets, 1979-1987.
