On the corner parapet is the Australian crest and below it the name Emu Inn. The enclosed verandah on the upper level has a corrugated iron awning and wrought iron balcony. A cast iron bollard is on the corner and horses and carts removing demolition materials. This hotel which later became the Union Hotel sells Tooths beer, Auld Jock and Wolfes Schnapps. To the right down Outram Street is the entrance to Goold Street.
