Appended: Draft of the Report - Sewerage: Main sewers with the exception of a portion of that in Pitt Street have been in good working order; additions to the main sewers were completed in Pitt Street south of Hay Street, Elizabeth Street to Foveaux Street through Mrs Hughes' property; additional 560 houses connected making a total of 6467 houses connected to mains; more stoneware pipe drains laid; - Water: Engines and machinery have worked continuously except when Reservoirs full and have been in efficient working order; break in main passing through Baptist's Gardens was repaired; details given of quantity of water pumped; alterations made in the arrangement of the City mains by which a much larger supply was obtained through Busby's Tunnel which was cleared of obstructions and repaired; testing continued of capabilities of Lachlan Swamp with the sinking of an experimental tube near the Randwick Road to a depth of 85 feet and the use of a chain pump; construction work completed included embankments at the head of Lachlan Swamp and at Randwick road and along the course of the Botany Stream all of which withstood the unusual rainfall experienced; preparations in hand for the enlargement of the Engine-pond Reservoir at Botany; extended survey of the water Shed between Randwick, Long Swamp and Botany has been completed; annual contracts satisfactorily carried out; - Financial: Statements of receipts and Expenditure on Sewerage and Water Funds were presented.
