Appended: Letter from the Department of Land and Public Works, written after consultation between the Secretary for Lands and Public Works and RW the Mayor on the proposed tramway from the Railway Terminus at Redfern to the Semi-circular Quay, requesting Corporation concurrence in the proposal, referring to an address in favour of the work presented to the Government by a very large number of householders of Pitt St and noting that the subsequent public works would provide employment for the large number of labourers returned from the Fitzroy diggings; Memo from Edward Bell, City Engineer, with details of the proposed tramway as far as made available to him and outlining various problems, deficiencies etc.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordNo
