Appended: Memo from Edward Bell, City Engineer, noting that the hill beside the Burial Ground had been covered with clay from the Red Hill which has proved unsuitable and should be removed to Cooper St and replaced by ballasting and iron stone gravel; later annotations noting gravel is unavailable and recommending substitution with white metal; final annotation by John Sutherland, Chairman of the Improvement Committee, that the work is to be carried out by day labour.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordNo
