John Hourigan of 151 Cumberland Street had his tender of curbing and guttering accepted by the Commissioners, but has made a miscalculation for the work in that he did not include excavation. His first job being the corner of Clarence & Erskine Street, which requires 80 yards of rock to be removed, he hopes that this will be dealt with considerably. City Surveyor states that as the Contract was signed, the specifications read and explained to Hourigan and as his quote was higher than Mr. Donovan's he feels the work should go ahead as per Contract.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
