(Note: 18/2/75 referred to Mr Bradridge. To abolish the ditch of which Mr Starkey complains it will be necessary to lay kerb and gutter on the north side of Foveaux St westward of Riley Street, to the extent of ninety feet. I estimate the cost of this work will not exceed £20. By Resolution of Council of 25 March 1873 no money is to be expended on streets until the cost of forming is contributed by the proprietors of property fronting the street, but if Mr Starkey will pay the cost of forming the portion of Foveaux Street in front of his property the resolution so far as he is concerned would be complied with and in that case the kerb & gutter might be laid: THB; 24/2/74.
