The undersigned have the honor to report that they have inspected the premises of Messrs Milin & Co in Sussex Street, complained of in the petition of certain inhabitants of Kent Street and find that the chimney is, as stated in the petition, considerably lower than the houses occupied by the petitioners, but this Messrs Milin & Co have promised shall be immediately rectified by carrying the chimney up to a height above the houses in Kent Street, so as to abate the nuisance complained of - With regard to the smelting operations we are of opinion that there is nothing injurious to health in what is done, as the only vapour arising therefrom is that of sulphur, which instead of being detrimental to health, is, on the contrary, beneficial -- RS, Inspector of Nuisances; 3/3/75. 8/4/75 To be informed the contents of report. 9/4/75 informed: CHW) Peter Evans; W Hodges; E Dunphy; J Parrott; J Tayler; et al.
