He seeks immediate action from the Council to prevent recurrence and compensation for the damage already sustained. The City Engineer is instructed to report on the situation as soon as possible and to ensure operators take more care. The City Engineer reports that the situation is likely to get worse rather than better and that no time should be lost in preparing for the erection of one reservoir 50 feet in diameter capable of holding 250,000 gallons and in the meantime the head of the main should be turned so that the stream may run to the southward sand hills at a cost he estimates will not exceed £20.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
