Annual report on Sydney Water Works for 1860. Previous report (1859) that engines at Botany and the 30" main had been in operation for last 2 months of that year. Now advise in constant and successful operation daily (except Sundays). The single engine made 1,041,839 revolutions and the completed engines 611,053 as indicated by the counters. 326,008,080 gallons sent to sydney. P N Russell contracted to supply £10,000 of 12", 9" 6", 4" & 3" pipe before 1/4/1861. Provision made (in same contract) with W Russell for another £10,000 of pipes during 1861 and £5,000 in 1862 for water distribution thru City. List of streets [9] with pipe sizes and yards laid.
