On behalf of driver James Richards (omnibus No 42 Invincible) which ran into omnibus driven by Hammond (Citizen) who was summoned before the Central Police Court. They agreed to repair damage and thought it settled, and I & client did not attend, where a £2/10/0 fine and costs imposed. Mr Stubbs Sergeant can confirm facts. Request fine be remitted. Notes:1. City Sol and Insp of Hackney Carriages to report. 2. This case was postponed, and as knew nothing of their arrangement, proceeded in usual way; 3.Cannot interfere. Detailed report of Mr Stubbs, inspector, details postponements (one for landing of the Governor on 22nd) and legal procedure, notes that only Governor can revoke a sentence but in Corporation offences, a petition to the Mayor can result in indefinite suspension of the Distress Warrant which is tantamount to not executing it.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
