Thomas Day & William Day objecting to blockage of a drain in Sussex Street caused by a Council gully which is never cleaned. Edward Bell, City Engineer, responds that the blockage is chiefly occasioned by rubbish and tinpots which are washed into it from the surface of Mr Day's property because he has nothing to protect the drain. Mr Day will make provision to stop the rubbish getting in. The cost of removing the capstone and putting down a double grating plus cleaning the drain from the gully to the junction with the sewer will not exceed £18.
