Tooth & Co. write on Kent Brewery letterhead, to submit a map showing an encroachment on their property and seeking appropriate compensation. Edward Bell, City Engineer, reports on previous ownership of the area and estimates the value of the slip of land at £86. He recommends that the City Solicitor report on the validity of Messrs Tooth's title to this slip of land. Richard Driver, City Solicitor, reports that it is almost impossible to report on the title of the Messrs Tooth. Further letter 24th June 1864.
