With respect to account for £35/16/0 for repairs to Blue Stone Cubes in Pottinger St disturbed by bursting of sewer. This was not due to inadequacy of its discharging capacity, but choking by nail and other cans via a large gully in Lower Fort St near Windmill St, unprotected at inlet by gratings or bars. I am directed to ask that instruction be given at once for fixing of gratings to all gullies to avoid a repetition. Board is not responsible for damage and account is returned herewith.
