Inform you that anticipate difficulty between City Council and George Hudson, 52 Regent St Redfern, contracting under the Waterloo Council for formation of Dowling St, South of Cleveland St, and west of Sydney Common land, in regard to quantity of sand dislodged and removed from said Common by Mr Hudson. I instructed that surveys be made and plans drawn of natural repose and amount dislodged, correctness as borne out by report of Mr Stacey, Moore Park Ranger, and with Mr Hudsons denial of liability addressed to City Treasury of 1 Aug. [a memo here, dated 14April] Suggest legal proceedings be instituted forthwith for amount of account rendered for £22/1/0/0. Notes: WM: City Sol to recover.
