Bring to your attention a great injustice, when employment is scarce that a man employed, Patrick Gregan, has considerable property in Balmain and Leichhardt, and could live comfortably on the rents when other men are starving in our City. Notes: What department? Engineers. RS, Insp of Nuisances: report that a similar anonymous complaint was found to be exaggerated and totally untrue... report of 17 Dec: he is a sober and industrious and never absent except from influenza on 20-22 Oct last, for which no wages received. He is married with 5 young children living, another buried recently. He has a small cottage at Balmain, rent 7/6 pw, and clearing the mortgage, together with interest thereon.
