With reference to our interview on subject of interest on balance standing to credit of the "City Fund Reserve A/c" I beg to explain that when advance on "Moore St Improvement Funds" was arranged, it was stipulated that credit interest was to be allowed on the CIty Fund, as a set off against interest on the latter, but when this was paid off, it was not contemplated that the Bank should pay interest on the credit balance, as you could draw at any time. It was open to place it on deposit for a fixed term.
