Contact prints were produced from glass plate negatives and pasted into the albums, usually two images per page. The photographs were assigned a sequential number (from 1 to 1638) and most have a written caption underneath that provides the location and date the image was taken.

This volume contains photographs taken in 1916-1919. Some of the photographs in this album are stamped with the photographer's name: Milton Kent (images 51/724 to 51/752). Note that there are often 2 perspectives of the same building.

The areas covered in this album include: City, Camperdown, Chippendale, Darlinghurst, Haymarket, Pyrmont, The Rocks, Surry Hills, Ultimo, Woolloomooloo.
