The LGA 1919 applied to fresh meat, fish, fruit and any presecribed article of human food. It covered storage, exhibition, carriage, preparation and sale of food, including in restaurants, hotels and all like places
Premises storing or selling (a) ice-cream and (b) bread and pastry were added to the prescribed types of food subject to Council regulation in 1948 and 1953 respectively.CreationSydney Corporation Act 1902, Part XIII.
Prohibited sale of bad food, granted power to enter premises to carry out inspections.
