Scaffolding is in place as the Victorian awning has been removed and is being replaced by a steel cantilevered awning. A water cart is on the footpath. Ladders are leaning against the wall in York Street and along from them is the original Victorian awning which is to be removed. Part of a sequence of photographs taken to record alterations to the building in 1917-1919.
