Work is in progress with scaffolding in place and the perimeter brick walls getting higher with bricks stacked ready for use and wooden beams piled beside the picket fence. Also the steel supports for the roof are being located into position. Along the Hay Street footpath is a gas street lamp and horse trough opposite Kimber Lane. Moorfoot Brothers building on Parker Street and A and A Hordens water tower are in the background. Next along is Hendersons Sweets and then the Mansion House Hotel with the spires on the shaped roof line at 701 George Street which is also the corner of Engine Street. Bell tower to the right is on the Eden Studios at 725-731 George Street. Pemmels Flour is visible at 76 Engine Street.
