On the left at 175 to 177 Hay Street is the Sydney Shirt factory with signs advertising Christies Skirts, which is to be demolished for the extension of Thomas Street to Hay Street. At 143 is Gibson Battle and Company a Machinery and Metal Store. The white building on the right between Kimber Lane and Dixon Street is Wests Patent Tyre Setter Company and beside it at 108 Hay Street is the Engineers Hotel. Horses and carts are in the street. The corner at the lower right is Sussex Street.
