The Committee questioned the Overseers of City Works, Bryant and McBeath, and found that there was either misrepresentation on the part of Bryant to Councillor Ryan or ignorance of the quality of the stone and that the late City Surveyor, Moir, had given away about 100 tons of Corporation owned stone to the 'Mary'. The Committee made no recommendation on further action referring such to Council. Minutes of evidence of McBeath and Bryant appended and including reference to the role of Mr Wilkie in the matter.
