John Dawson, 136 Pitt St, applied on behalf of Tarlington for compensation. The Corporation had quarried blue metal stone from Tarlington's 30 acre farm which adjoined land owned by Lamb (which was formerly owned by Lawson) at Prospect. Committee also recommended Council apply to the Government for reimbursement as it had given Council possession of the land as part of the Metal Quarry. Appended: Letters from Dawson, one signed also by Edwd Brown, setting out the claim with annotations by Rd Driver, City Solicitor, and Bell, City Engineer, agreeing on the facts and recommending payment; Letter from Walter Lamb, Greystanes, Prospect, offering to sell portion of the land to Council in the case that his offer to Taylor, Tarlington's agent, to purchase all the farm was accepted.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordNo
