Appended: Report of the Sub-Committee finding that Harris, Union and Murray Sts have been left impassable and in a "precipitous and unprotected state" after works by the Company and recommending that either the Company be asked to remedy the injury or that remedial works be done by the Council and charged to the Company; works needed are either to throw a bridge along the line of Harris St or to cut down the street and to cut down Murray St and the northern side of Union St to the proper levels; Letter from Thomas Smith, Secretary, Pyrmont Bridge Co stating that, in regard to Harris St, the proprietors of the Ultimo Estate had entered into a pecuniary agreement with the Contractor, Randle, to allow excavation of rock and soil, and that consequently the matter was out of the Company's hands; in regard to Murray St, Smith refers to earlier correspondence with Council.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordNo
