Unique IDA-00444485SeriesLetters Received from the Colonial Secretary, 1842-1859Date21st January 1846FormatVolume - HardcoverDescriptionLetter from Colonial Secretary referring to previous advice concerning the Grant of a Portion of Land at Lachlan Swamp for securing the City Water Supply together with a strip of Land 30 feet wide along the length of the Tunnel, as Surveyor General advises that this slip should be extended to 100 feet, to accord with 4 Guil 1V No 1 for protecting the Tunnel, it is considered that a Grant of this Slip may now be unnecessary for any purpose of Security to the City or the Corporation; as Surveyor General considers that the irregular Figure of Land embracing the Swamp proposed to be Granted is not in the direction of the Cardinal Points, it is further advised that the Figure should be Rectangular with Boundary Lines in the direction of the Cardinal Points.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
