[Note: Whilst Pyrmont St was being raised by the contractor in 1862 Mr Smith wrote to the Council complaining that his fence would be damaged if certain works were not done. The minute which I wrote upon that letter is as follows - Nov 8 1862 - I called upon the contractor to put this work in order to Mr Smith's satisfaction - he has done so and brought a note from Mr Smith to that effect dated 9 Jany 63 - In fact I declined to certify to the contractors' a/c until he broght such a note from Mr Smith. There is a very good retaining wall along Mr Smith's fence and if he raises his fence to the top of the wall as he proposed doing in the first instance his paddock would be secure: EB; 2/3/65. 16.3.65 Mr Smith to be informed of the contents of Mr Bell's letter: JW]LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
