[Note: I considered this matter before laying down the earthenware pipes - the road has been sufficiently cut up without opening it further - and should the gas main by any chance leak in this short distance which is very improbable - measures may be adopted for security of the few stoneware pipes between the end of Crescent St and Kent St from any damage - and if the Gas Company informs me in the event of the opening being made, I will attend to, see them properly secured: EB;15/12/64.
