Petition by Thomas Evans, Moore Park in Colony of NSW: 1. Have been appointed 8 years ago at the Randwick Rd Pound with a house belonging to Govt to live in rent free. 2. When Sydney Corp took possession of Sydney Common, requested by then Mayor to leave the house for a house to be erected alongside the pound, free of rent and would employ me on the Sydney Common 3. I did move 4 .A house erected 2½ years ago near the pound for the use of the poundkeeper for the Sydney District but have been charged rent of 7/- pw for same. 5. fees received as pound keeper few and small, and barely sufficient for self, wife and 4 young children . 6. received notice to give up possesion of house .. to leave ..unable to perform duties.
