(Note: 3/7/82 ackd. City Engineer: CHW. Generally the best judgement is exercised by the employees of this department in replacing material after pipe laying operations; a little convexity being left on the top of the trench to allow for the settlement that will inevitably take place in all earthwork no matter how well rammed. I have had many complaints from the suburbs when on examination I found the work to be done as well as possible.
