(Note: The City Surveyor will be good enough to report what amount of claims have been made or are likely to be made against the Council in the matter of alteration of the levels of Crown Street - in other words what amount would the City Surveyor recommend be retained, pending final settlement of the Govt claim: HJD; 11/9/88 507/88. As there are several other works to be completed in consequence of altered levels (by the Government) I do not think it desirable to pay any further sum.
