In re memo on condition of footways in Liverpool St, fronting Lyons Terrace. Report that at no 185, cnr Macquarie St, S, is tar paved, in fair order, area 58 sq yds. Thence to gateway leading to rear of Rainford's Hotel, 187 to 197, is p'vd with sandstone flagging, area 325 sq yds, cost of laying hard SS flagging £220/0/0. cost of tarpaving £34/0/0. if the Sandstone flagging were extended to intersection of Macquarie st, Sth, the addiitonal cost would be £35/0/0. Notes: RWR; this footway complained of for some time, in much need of repair. Will the Mayor authorise hard SS or tar paving? Pls instruct.
