Henry Pearce, Fisherman, William Street, Double Bay to The Mayor complaining about the Inspector condemning three baskets of his fish and not allowing him to take a sample to the Health Officer for inspection. If this is allowed there is no appeal against the Inspector's decision. He would like to meet with the Mayor about the matter. Report from Thomas Lutton, Market Inspector advising the fish were caught on Friday and still in the market on Monday without any attempt to preserve them. He saturated the fish in kerosene because of the stench. He did deny Mr Pearch permision to take them to the Health Officer.
