[paragraph has been crossed through] That the following works and improvements recommended for completion this year be performed by contract, they are: the complete formation and making of the main throughfare of the City namely George Street; to complete the forming and making of Bridge Street from George Street to Macquarie Place; to form and make Castlereagh Street, to form, coat with iron stone, curb and gutter the portion from Market to King Street; and for the purpose of carrying out temporary repairs twenty men be employed as working staff by day labour with this number increased as necessary.
