Unique IDAG-0044DescriptionOn 1 January 1989, the creation of the Council of the City of South Sydney left the Council of the City of Sydney with a smaller area of jurisdiction. Under the organisational structure that was adopted, the existing standing committees of the council were dissolved. By a Resolution of Council on 3 January 1989, CA 41, Finance Committee III, 1989-1993; CA 43, Planning Committee II, 1989-1993; CA 44, Works Committee III, 1989-1993; CA 45, Corporate and Community Services Committee, 1989-1993; and CA 42, Industrial Relations Committee, 1989-1991 were created.
The Works Committee [III] was allocated the responsibility for oversight of: departmental maintenance including street construction and drainage; cleansing and garbage collection; the Moore Park parking area; operation of fruit barrows; and licensing of outdoor eateries on footways.
In 1993, Council decided to review its standing committees and by Resolution of Council of 28 June 1993, four standing committees and one special committee of council were created, namely: CA 142, Finance Committee IV, 1993+; CA 140, Cultural and City Services Committee, 1993+; CA 143, Planning Committee III, 1993+; CA 144, Projects and Public Spaces Committee and the CA 141, Properties Committee II, 1993+ which was a special committee of the whole.CreationResolution of Council 3 January 1989AbolitionResolution of Council 28 June 1993
