[a] Letter from Colonial Secretary, dated 6th February 1843, advising that the Governor declines opening another theatre unless the application be recommended by the Mayor and Council of the City;

[b] Petition from several Persons connected with the theatrical profession in the City of Sydney for a license for a second theatre to bring more persons into active employment, as the population of Sydney is now more than double what it was at the commencement of theatricals in 1832: Signed: Thos Leggatt [Thomas Leggatt]; Thos Fitzgerald [Thomas Fitzgerald]; Mary Ward; Charles Jones; Albert Spencer; James Turner; C Knowles; Joseph Simmons; Harriet Knowles; Anne Ximenes; J Meredith; A Meredith; Joseph Palmer; Chas Faucit [Charles Faucit]; George Fitchett; Chas Fenton [Charles Fenton]; J Riley; C Benham; Wm Bowden [William Bowden]; James Behnon, Machinist; H W Walton; M Larra; Joseph Dennis.

[c] Memorial of Joseph Wyatt, Proprietor of the Victoria Theatre, Pitt Street, praying that Council will give consideration to his having expended £2000 on a leasehold for 21 years, only 7 years of which have already expired, and respectfully stating that, when he first commenced building the present theatre, it was upon the good faith of a promise from Sir Richard Bourke that he should be protected (to a certain extent) from unjust opposition.
