Petition from butchers and poulterers renting stalls in the Sydney Market expressing alarm at the probability of a bye law being enacted to close the market gates from Saturday night to Monday morning, and praying that the market gates shall continue to be opened on Sunday mornings and remain open until 10 o'clock, as heretofore, ensuring that losses from the perishing of meats etc be avoided and that the poorer classes, who may not be paid their weekly wages until late on Saturday, have access to the market on Sunday morning.
