Petition from residents of Elizabeth Street who are compelled to take in washing to support their families but living at a great distance from any public water fountain are obliged to purchase water at an exorbitant price from the Race Course fountain. Petitioners beg to be allowed a supply of water from the Race Course fountain without any charge.
