Petition from wharfingers, timber merchants and others interested in waterside property, who have to pay heavy rents and taxes, directing attention to the sacrifice of City property due to occupation of the Market Wharf by some four or five timber merchants who conduct a lucrative trade thereon without payment of wharf rates, rents or taxes, thus underselling the petitioners who are subject to heavy charges.
