Appended: Memo from Chas H Woolcott, Town Clerk, with Council resolution to refer the matter to the Committee with annotation by Edward Bell, City Engineer; Petition from Henry Challener, gun maker, stating that he had enclosed an existing verandah with initial verbal approval, later withdrawn, from WH Baron, City Surveyor, and that the change ornamented the street and removed a corner where nuisances were committed; signatories endorsing the petition: [all of King St, unless otherwise noted] William Wright; James Parten; G Bransgrove, George St; Henry Canner; TR Smith; Thomas Lister; Simon John Burnett; Fred Muller; Thomas Lumory; Charles Gibbon; Nathaniel Salmon; Petition [second] by Henry Challener with further details of the encroachment and dealings with officials including the City Commissioners with annotation by WH Baron that the information is correct.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordNo
