(Note: At present the floor of Mr Eady's cellar is nine inches higher than the bottom of the sewer in the street opposite his premises which is 8'3" under surface of roadway, the inclination of sewer to King Street is 1 in 70. where it joins the 2'6" brick sewer at a depth of 9 feet under surface of street. So that we cannot alter or lower this sewer under a very heavy cost. I am of opinion that there is some obstruction in the pipes at present laid by Mr Eady as the water stands in his pipes half full which is fully 12 inches higher than the sewer, and the sewer is at this place perfectly clear and free of water: FB)LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
