(Note: Mr Davis has paid the amount £6.6 as stated by him and which amount I had a clear right to charge. The law is exceedingly plain upon the point. A landlord has an undoubted right to prepare his lease and the tenant has the luxury in all cases of paying for it unless there be a special agreement to the contrary. Mr Davis has not been overcharged & had I made out a bill of items the costs would have been more than double. The Randwick Council contribute nothing to the cost and it would be most unfair to expect me to prepare these leases free of cost. I know nothing of the practice of the Crown Solicitor with regard to leases for Polls but admitting that he does not charge I cannot understand how I am to be bound by it as the circumstances are so totally different: RD; 28/3/78. 28/3/78 To be informed of Solicitor's report: JM) LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
